Ad for the opening of the Sportsplex pool. Too bad summer is over.

I know it’s only September, but after 5 years and thousands of cards, Steph knows when the holiday rush starts. So if you are looking for something a little more special this year, check out her holiday card designs.

The Ad Club of West Michigan has been putting on the Addy Awards since the 60’s. And, as usual, there were lots of fake smiles and disingenius hand shakes to go along with the bizarre judging. Fortunately, Steph and I went out to dinner before the show so the evening wasn’t a total bust.

The awards are meant to honor outstanding work produced over the last year. For the most part, the work that wins is outstanding and deserves the award. But there are always several examples that make me scratch my head and wonder. I would love to hear the judges’ decisions on some of their top picks. It would help explain a lot, and the award presentation might lose some of its randomness.

That said, here is some work I helped Shippert Photography produce. It won 2 Silver Addys.
